FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about how Austin Tech Trends is built, what we cover, and how to use our data.

01 What does Austin Tech Trends actually do?

We publish narrative trend forecasts built from primary-source founder interviews. Hundreds of conversations per quarter, synthesized into thesis-driven coverage.

02 How often is the data updated?

We publish new founder conversations and ecosystem reports continuously. Major theses are reviewed quarterly and updated when the evidence changes.

03 Can I get the underlying data?

Some yes, some no. Public-source data we ingest is freely re-shareable. Commercial-source data (PitchBook, Crunchbase) is licensed and we cannot redistribute it. Email walhus@gmail.com with specific requests.

04 Are you affiliated with any of the companies you cover?

No. Austin Tech Trends is editorially independent. We do not accept paid placements, do not share quotes back for approval (only fact-checks), and do not embargo. Our reader is the only customer.

05 How can I support the work?

Three ways. (1) Read regularly and share. (2) If you represent a publication or organization that wants to license data or sponsor coverage, see our ABJ partnership pitch for the format. (3) Send tips and corrections.

06 Why two sister sites?

Same horizon, two completely different methodologies. Austin Tech Trends is the narrative side. ATX Tech Trends — Signal Index is the quantitative side. Read both for the full picture.

07 Where do I report a correction?

Email walhus@gmail.com. We respond within 24 hours and post corrections publicly on the relevant page.
